Early life
- 21 Jan 1986: Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Patna in the state of Bihar to Krishna Kumar Singh and Usha Singh.
- 2002: His family moved to Delhi where Rajput completed his schooling for intermediate studies in Kulachi Hansraj Model School.
- 2006: he dropped out of his engineering course during his fourth year to begin a career in arts and performance.He moved to Mumbai, took up odd jobs and small roles alongside working in the theatre industry.
- 2008: He started working in television series Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil.
- 2009: He started working in television series Pavitra Rishta, later it become popular on ZEE TV.
Films
- 2011: He was spotted by Mukesh Chhabra, the casting director of Kai Po Che!. It was released in 2013 and became a commercial and critical success.
- 2012: He was signed in by Raj Kumar Hirani for a role in the Aamir Khan starring satirical drama called PK. The film PK was later released in 2014 and became the highest grossing Indian film.
- 2014: He was announced as the actor who would play the role of Dhoni in the biopic which was titled M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. Later it released in 2 October 2016 and become the 5th highest grossing Bollywood film of that year.
- 2017: He was signed in by the director Abhishek Kapoor and the producer Ekta Kapoor for their film Kedarrnath.It was a love story set in the backdrop of the 2013 floods in Uttarakhand. The film however soon became embroidered in controversy as the Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that it was promoting love Jihad by showing an interfaith couple.
- 2018: He was signed in by Nitesh Tiwari for his new film titled Chhichhore. It was released on 6 September 2019 and became the third movie featuring to gross over ₹100 crore.
- 2020: His last movie was Dil Bechara. It was released in 24 July 2020 after his 😑 death.

- 2010: He won Indian Television Academy Awards in gategory of Most Popular Actor(Male) for Pavitra Rishta
- 2011: He won FICCI Frames Excellence Honours in gategory of Best TV Actor(Male) for Pavitra Rishta
- 2016: He won Screen Awards in gategory of Best Actor(Critics) for M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story
- 2017: He won Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in gategory of Best Actor for M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story
Death
- 2020: On 14 June 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput, aged 34, was found dead, hanging from the ceiling fan in his home in Bandra, Mumbai. He had reportedly shown signs of clinical depression and was suffering from bipolar disorder. The Mumbai Police commenced an investigation, stating that the death was being treated as a suicide.
